MOULTRIE
Moultrie, the county seat for Colquitt County, incorporated on December 13, 1859. The city remembers General William Moultrie, a revolutionary war hero and South Carolina governor. Built in 1902 and remodeled in 1956, the Colquitt County courthouse is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Sunbelt Agriculture Exposition, the largest farm show in the U.S., is held annually in Moultrie. Each year the city also hosts the Festival on the Square, the Calico Arts and Crafts Shows, and the Scottish Festival Weekend.
